LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE NOT AN OBLIGATION
Details
This is an around-the-world treasure hunt based on a Portal theme, following doors and where they lead. It is funded for 3+ months. Upon the adventurer’s arrival at their first night’s hotel a letter will be waiting for them with a clue that leads to the first door. This door will be the starting place of the Adventure. Clues will be left via email, libraries, coffee shops, individuals and multiple means that lead to different places and ultimately to the prize. The prize is not critical to the adventure, the quest for it is. The prize will however be something of definite interest and significance such as a trove of ancient coins from the adventurer’s route.
The adventurer will be given a cell phone, laptop and a debit card, the stipend to be replenished monthly, all charges to be accounted for. An online log of the journey will chronicle the Adventure. The portals are not just entries and exits to physical places but to experiences and perceptions as well. Enough clues will be given as needed to insure the smooth continuity of the experience.
The artist and his staff will arrange specific events and set some key situations in place personally and attend to all media coverage, other than that this is an Adventure of passing through portals one of those being the door that leads from the known to the unknown, security to uncertainty.
This is a spontaneous Adventure of connections and actions. There are no safety nets. This is not a guided tour or a youth camp. This is an adventure and as such spontaneity must be unbridled. Possibility can not be thwarted by fear. Doors are open for the adventurer to explore, not to be guided through.
Each journey is a gift. No money is asked of the recipient and no guaranties are given, no services offered.
If the recipient does not meet the level of performance or conduct expected of them, funding will cease other than their ticket home and a new recipient will be chosen.
Recipients will be chosen through a network of people including college professors, teachers and counselors. There are no restrictions as to gender, ethnicity or national origin. The recipients must be over eighteen.
